Walks

Walks

We have a varied and active walking and hiking programme and try to have atleast one walk on offer each weekend. Walks vary from hill walks taking in the Munros and Corbetts to lower level coastal/countryside walks. Weekends away are also organised throught the year.

Hills the group have climbed recently include:-

Grade A - Strenuous, for the fit, involving some or all of these factors: on high or rough ground, with steep ascents and descents. Ben More and Stob Binnein, Creag Mhor and Beinn Heasgarnich, Ben Vorlich and Stuc A Chroin, An Caisteal and Beinn a'Chroin, Tarmachan Ridge, etc.

Grade B - Moderate, demanding higher standard of fitness and stamina than C; up to 15km; no steep ascents or descents. The Cheviots, Pencaitland & Ormiston, Ben Lomond, West and East Lomond Hills, Loch Ordie and Deuchary Hill, etc.

Grade C - Easy, mainly on level ground and often on paths and tracks; suitable for beginners. Blackness Castle, St Abbs Coastal, Lithlithgow Loch, Water of Leith, Caerketton Hill and Allermuir Hill, etc.

We also have a number of members who enjoy winter walking and these are organised through our groups.

Weekends away have included -

Tulloch, Braemar, The Lakes, Glen Shiel, Ben Nevis and even a wee bothy in The Borders!
